Vocation Ministry

This ministry supports and promotes vocations to the priesthood and religious life.  We sponsor events throughout the year in observance of Vocation Awareness Week, World Day for Consecrated Life, World Day of Prayer for Vocations, and Night of Prayer for Priests. For each of these events, we make prayer cards available for parishioners, hang banners and distribute flyers. These events are also announced from the pulpit. We provide hospitality at receptions for our priests and seminarians.

We meet the first Thursday of the month at 9:15 a.m. in the Parish Center.

As Christians and members of the Mystical Body of Christ, we are responsible for solving the critical need for priests, brothers, sisters, deacons and lay leaders. Jesus said to his disciples, “The harvest is ready but the laborers are few. Ask the harvest master to send out laborers to gather his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-39

William Johnson, the first Bishop of Orange, recognized this need for prayer and mandated 24-hour adoration throughout the diocese for this purpose. Adoration at St. Bonaventure is held on the 7th of each month.
Any young people who are discerning the priesthood or religious life should contact our pastor Fr. Joseph Knerr.

Faith Sharing Communities

Faith Sharing Communities provide opportunities and guidance to adults who wish to form a specific group for the purpose of reading, reflecting and sharing on Scripture. Ministries are encouraged to use the Faith Sharing format at the opening of their meetings.

Faith Sharing Communities generally meet in private homes at times that are convenient to the members. For information on joining or start a Faith Sharing group, please contact Lynn Hearn at (714) 846-3359 ext. 478 or by email at: This email address is being protected from spambots.
