Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope you have signed up to help us with our Parish Capital Campaign. We need you to assist with the campaign receptions, home visits, and prepping the mailings. This is a great way to make new friends and build community here at St. Bonaventure. If you haven’t already done so, please fill out a “Volunteer Commitment Card” found in the Church or Parish Center.
You will be receiving in the mail an invitation to a Campaign Reception. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we know how many will be attending. Many committees composed of your fellow parishioners have dedicated many long hours into developing the plans for our Church Renovation. We are very thankful for the time, energy, and expertise that they have shared in these meetings with our architect, the City of Huntington Beach, the Diocesan Construction Office, and the Diocesan Finance Office. We look forward to sharing with you details of the Renovation. There will also be time for your questions.
I love what it says in today’s Responsorial Psalm:
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear?
The Lord is my life’s refuge; of whom should I be afraid?
One thing I ask of the Lord; this I seek:
To dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
That I may gaze on the loveliness of the Lord and contemplate his temple.
I believe that I shall see the bounty of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord with courage; be stouthearted, and wait for the Lord. (Psalm 27:1, 4,13-14)
Please join us in our endeavor to renew, refresh, and strengthen this “House of the Lord” so that generation upon generation “may gaze upon the loveliness of the Lord and contemplate his temple.”
Father Joe Knerr
